Singh, Arnima ; Ditrych, Ondřej (advisor) ; Makariusová, Radana (referee)
The thesis aims to answer the question whether terrorism can ever be morally justified. Since the very acts of terrorism are by their own nature morally reprehensible, such as indiscriminate killings of people, the justification for such acts is not always looked for. The thesis forms a cohesive framework based on the Normative theories of ethics, as well as the interpretation of those theories of various influential political and philosophical authors. Through this thesis, we strive to not only be able to evaluate the morality of terrorism, if it exists but also to highlight the importance of conducting an ethical inquiry into the subject matter at hand, and how a more thorough study of ethics in relation to terrorism can potentially help terrorism studies overcome the complexities related to the term terrorism.

Secondly, negative macroeconomic implications of below-replacement fertility in countries in the Global North are presented. Thirdly, it is shown that economic justifications alone do not provide sufficient justification for procreative intentions. Moreover, by utilizing the concept of carbon impact, a precept to limit one's family size on environmental grounds is stated. This precept is used to establish a novel concept of global justification for procreation. An argument from harm is used to argue for a concept of local justification for procreation. Lastly, an account of valid local and global justifications is given. The ambition of the thesis is also to give a formulation of the character and typical manifestation of Lipovetsky's "postmoral ethics of the third type" with neither religious nor lay basis in form of duty. The thesis is aware of the tension between the ethical ardor and decadence, the incitements to individualism and the demands of society, in short the tension between responsible and irresponsible ethics. The aim is also to try to justify the applied ethics of responsibility formulated by Lipovetsky, which is to be set in the period of "the twilight of duty", when we no longer have a...
